Dyed Howlite

Howlite

Soft and porous and easily dyed, and often used to mimick more expensive stones such as turquoise or lapis lazuli.

But in our opinion, howlite is an attractive stone in itself.

Howlite was popular on the "power bracelets" of the nineties, following the belief that it enhances memory.

Magnesite

Thought to have been discovered in 1808, this creamy/white stone is porous and takes dye easily. Popular in the tribes of North America for carvings and beads.

Believed to enhance relaxation and creative imagination, encouraging self-love personal happiness and therefore build self-esteem.

Similar in make-up to calcite and close in appearance to howlite.
