There have been numerous colour charts used by decorators through the centuries, but if history is to be believed then the Pantone® chart was the first to be globally recognised, ensuring that tones could be matched both nationally and globally.
We searched for Pantone 1963 on Google and we found images of a 1963 "Color Specifier" on the Hi-Ink Facebook Page.

" .... How?... Now you can originate layouts using Pantone's numbered color-coded markers. Or you can specify colors or tints using any of the 32 Pantone colors from the 3M "Color-Key specifier chart......
Result? There's little chance of error at any stage of color reproduction....."
