Pure White Dolomite

Discovered in 1791 by French mineralogist Deodat Dolomieu and found all round the world, crystals are found in marbles and where magnesium rich water filters through limestone.
The magnesium in the water replaces approximately half the calcium in aragonite and calcite to form dolomite.

Naturally pure white dolomite marble is sometimes known as "mountain jade" it can take colours from neighbouring minerals and is frequently dyed in a spectrum of colours.
